Acer Aspire V3-571G-9435
The $849 Aspire V3-571G-9435 is Acer’s newest addition to its line of laptops. And we will talk about it in this review so you can get an idea about it.
Multitouch gestures technology
This device ships with specs that sound something like this: a 15.6″ screen, an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M GPU with 2GB of VRAMa 1.3MP webcam, a 2.3-GHz Intel Core i7-3610QM quad-core processor (packing) 6GB of RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium operating system (the 64-bit version), a 500GB 5,400-rpm hard drive and a battery.
If you consider buying a light laptop, the Aspire V3 should not be first on your list. Because it weighs 5.8 pounds. Its dimensions are 15″ x 9.9″ x 0.9-1.0″.
The keyboard delivers everything that’s good in such a tool. We completed a Ten Thumbs Typing Test with 50wpm. Which is a great number if you are a fast typer who wants a great keyboard. To this result contributed the latter’s large buttons. The touchpad has keys which deliver a lot of accuracy. But the stiffness they showed put us off a couple of times. But multitouch gestures were performed admirably.
Limited viewing angles
While taking a look at the V3-571G-9435’s screen, we saw that its viewing angles were too narrow for our liking. Still, this display is capable of great-looking colors that will not appear washed-out. But on the whole, this screen is not as good as what we used from rivaling brands.
For connecting whatever device you have at home to this Aspire V3, you can use either its USB 3.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet, pair of USB 2.0 ports, an AC adapter port, a tray-loading DVD player, jacks for headphones/mic, VGA or HDMI. There are also a 4-in-1 card reader and a Kensington lock for other purposes.
The sound that our ears heard coming from the device’s speakers was very nice. To get the most out of them, a pair of headphones is strongly recommended, though. At least when you decide to play a game, Because if you only want to listen to a tune, the speakers are perfectly capable of offering a good sound.
Weak battery life
The battery is no jewel in terms of how much it can last. In our benchmarks it delivered around 4 hours and a half. The graphics processor was a pro that should be heartily praised. The speed it puts on display while playing games is excellent.
The Acer Aspire V3-571G-9435 will not get very hot. Even if you watch something for half an hour – one hour at a time. Boot time for the operating system was approximately 50 seconds. A much better value compared to the past.
Game frame rates while using this device are 182 if the resolution is set at 1,366 x 768 pixels. And we very much liked that. Do not try to play a game in 3D while its settings are chosen to be the best.
This product may have a webcam. But its performance is not at all notable. Yes, the colors it offers are very pretty, but they are going to get washed-out if you use this laptop in a fluorescent light.
The Aspire V3-571G-9435 has quite a couple of good pros. But the cons it also throws your way make its strengths pale in comparison. The mouse needs to have a make-over stat. All of these complaints aside, this laptop has a very attractive price for those consumers who want something more than decent for their work.
