Best Acer Laptops 2012
New powerful notebooks
Up until now we’ve talked about the best Toshiba laptops and the best rated Samsung laptops. But what about the most powerful Acer laptops in 2012 ? After all, the company is a name many consumers know and respect for the abundant quality that’s behind its product. For precisely these people we did a brainstorm and chose what we saw fit to be featured here. And so, the strongest laptops manufactured by Acer are the following.
For our first foray into the universe of best Acer laptops in 2012 we find the $1067.94 Acer Aspire S3 a very strong contender in this category. Almost everything felt right about the device. Of course the Apple MacBook Air is still a leader in the competition, but the laptop we’re discussing here doesn’t shame Acer’s reputation. The Aspire S3 has the very important merit of belonging to the ultra portable category (so very slim and light), something which today’s consumers value quite a lot. Other quality they highly value is durability and this laptop, which is made from magnesium and aluminum, won’t fail them in that respect. When it’s time to type something, you’ll become friends with the keyboard in no time at all, thanks to the comfort it presents users and even despite the lack of backlighting. The 13.3 screen passed tests – except for the reflection one – with the highest marks, so no need to worry over bad colors, lack of brightness and whatnot. This laptop’s Core i7 processor, the 4GB of RAM and the 240GB SSD it sports will turn the device into an Olympic runner with the best results. If you spend a lot of time on a laptop, the Acer Aspire S3 is fortunately not one to get hot quickly and the battery dies after 5 hours and a half.
Aspire TimelineX 5830T
Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830T comes with an affordable price – $926.58 – and performance-wise we salute its specs and features. The first and foremost merits of this laptop are its thin and light factors which count a lot in the great scheme of things, because they make the TimelineX 5830T easy to wave around. And no, it won’t receive damages in a heartbeat: its tough flex-free plastic on the rest of the body and its aluminum lid prevent that from happening. Connectivity options are, as with the majority of Acer laptops, many, varied and very useful. The display is not as good as what the company is capable of producing, but there are good levels of brightness, color, contrast and the like, so the basics are all covered; alas, the reflectivity issue encountered on the Acer Aspire S3, too, is nowhere near being resolved. Typing won’t be affected, because this laptop is blessed with a keyboard that will provide your fingers with all the comfort in the world. A dual-core i3-2310M CPU and its sidekick in the form of 6GB of RAM transfer their speed and capabilities in such a way as to transform the gadget into a good tool for performing multitasks. The games we played were simple, because the ones that demanded more from the Aspire TimelineX 5830T were not looked at kindly by the processor. The astonishing thing is that the battery lasted more than even our wildest dreams wanted: 7 hours and 30 minutes; after we dimmed the screen more, the battery offered an additional half an hour.
$691.02 Acer Aspire 5750 is, out of the company’s laptops, the most solid model that is capable of a very competitive performance, compared the other 2012 models from our best rated laptops list. The lid and the portion around the full-size comfortable keyboard are, thank something, matte, so dust and fingerprints won’t succeed in their plans to attach themselves to these two elements. The 15.6″ display didn’t have the same fate, but it’s the fault of its glossy finish, so that’s that. All the most important ports, memory card reader, jacks and Wi-Fi – but no Bluetooth – find themselves in the composition of the Aspire 5750, even if this laptop is a budget-oriented one. The backlighting of the display and its bright, full of pretty colors and detailed images were an added bonus. No problems were encountered with the sound quality, but then again they were absent even from the other two Acer laptops in this list. Dual-core Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5-2410M is the type of processor used on this model and the manner in which it moves is very good for a laptop that isn’t expensive, but this is no gaming device.
Here we end our list of best Acer laptops for the start of this year. As we’ll progress into the remaining months of 2012 and the new releases that will appear from this company, we’ll be sure to add them here.
